Localizer
Ideal for instore radio applications - Localizer is a unique broadcast localising technology that customises a sustaining radio broadcast for individual locations, enabling all advert and location idents to be stored and played out from the Localizer’s memory. When triggered by RS-232 data control over the main satellite feed the system seamlessly inserts a scheduled break, before crossfading back to the incoming programme.
Localizer audio files and schedules may be updated via ftp locally, or over the Internet from a file server back at base. At the same time regular logs may be automatically reported back. Localizer is designed to run without any local intervention whatsoever. The sustaining broadcast programme can be delivered via satellite, or other “multicast” private network. Each Localizer can be loaded with a large number of location-specific audio commercials, idents or even full length programmes. The schedule for when the clips are played is also stored in each unit.
Scheduled sequence files and audio for each Localizer are loaded into
dedicated folders on the LServe Linux system server at the Broadcast Studio.
The Localizers keep themselves up-to-date by regularly re-synchronising
their memory banks with their own LServe folders via local Internet
connections.
