Media Links
Media Links has developed a superior product suite for adapting video to Ethernet, IP, SDH, SONET and 270Mb which enables service providers to convert and move video onto their multi-service networks in a more economic fashion.
The company provides a technology of choice solution for transporting HD signals reliably, over existing contribution and primary distribution network infrastructures, eliminating the need to install and manage expensive HD encoders and Telco adapters. Moreover, by utilising standards compliant IP encapsulation, Media Links can seamlessly integrate current products to next generation IP.
Media Links is based in Japan with an international presence in the USA. It was founded in 1993 and has consistently grown in size and technical reputation since then.
Relevant Products
The company offers a wide range of products and product families, here is a sample of the most relevant.
MD6000 - a high performance video transport system for SDH/SONET networks. Advanced technologies, including error correction, hitless protection switching, and differential delay adaptation allow flawless transport of the most demanding types of video signals.
MD8000 - a media transport system providing a high level of flexibility in content networking systems. It is designed to work transparently in both SONET/SDH and low-cost IP Core environments, even supporting simultaneous interconnections between them to maximise media connectivity.
MD8200 - a media transport system supporting up to 16 DVB-ASI interfaces, configurable for send or receive operation through an SNMP compliant, web accessible GUI interface. It features standards based transport stream encapsulation with FEC per the SMPTE 2022-1/2022-2 (Pro MPEG CoP3) and DVB-ASI granularity provisioned at 1 Mb increments from 3Mb up to 200Mb.
MDMax – a 3.2 terabit high-capacity, non-blocking video/audio/data switch offering enormous switching capacity for any type of studio infrastructure. By sharing a single common infrastructure, the MDMax provides a unified platform for the many types of signals used in a modern studio – video, audio, voice, real-time data and file transfer.
