Video Furnace System 5 from HaiVision
Integrated Video Distribution System
Video Furnace System 5 is a fully integrated video distribution solution that uses an organisation's existing IP network to securely deliver the highest quality video available to desktops, laptops and set-top boxes – without installed players, plug-ins or downloads.
Video sources can range from public broadcast feeds (BBC, FreeView), through subscription services (news, market data), to organisation-generated feeds (CCTV, corporate videos, training materials) and so on. These sources can be easily scheduled for viewing through the OnGuide Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) technology.
This unique end-to-end software solution offers an unequalled method of delivering quality, security, scalability and interoperability. Features include:
- System 5 is fast and easy to deploy on an existing IP network. The server integrates seamlessly into the network environment and no client players, plug-ins or downloads are needed – ever.
- It delivers a complete end-to-end solution with everything needed to digitise, encrypt, manage and distribute the highest quality video available over an existing IP network.
- System 5 is secure. Sensitive content can be encrypted (AES compliant) and distributed in real time. And with no special client software or plug-ins, the threat of being hacked is virtually eliminated.
- It is highly scalable. MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 compliant video streams are delivered at bit rates from 300 Kbps to 12 Mbps with the highest image quality available over an existing IP network.
- System 5 is operating system independent. It's the only fully integrated solution that supports ALL operating system platforms.

Related Components
- InStream™ Viewer - The patent-pending InStream Viewer enables all Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris 10 users to watch video with the simple click of a button. There's nothing to install or download - the viewer runs in system memory space, never writes anything to hard drives and completely disappears when the user has finished watching.
- OnGuide EPG - To help users navigate and select their programming options, the integrated OnGuide Electronic Programme Guide delivers ‘click and watch’ access to all video assets and channels.
- Set-Top Box - Televisions within reach of an enterprise IP network can tap into a wide range of live, broadcast and on-demand video with System 5’s digital set-top box. This low-cost IP device works in conjunction with System 4 and is perfect for digital signage and internal communications applications.
- Single Channel - The Single Channel option delivers one live video channel of programming over a high-speed IP network. All the features and benefits of System 5 are included in this single-channel solution and packaged in a compact, portable case. This approach is ideal for organisations seeking a more targeted solution or for smaller venue needs that can be met with a single live IP video channel and a 100-concurrent user license.
Adminstrative Tools
The system includes a range of administrative tools to make running a System 5 IPTV network even easier:
- Live Server - manages output of multicast data from live sources
- Station Manager - enables the user to create broadcast stations and schedules
- VFNow! - makes digitised assets available on request
