IPTV Systems
IPTV is a technology set that allows standard and high definition TV 'programmes' to be assembled, scheduled and 'broadcast' over an IP network, typically within a single organisation. The 'programmes' can be a mix of original content, bought-in content or subscription services. The schedule is collated into an Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) in the same way that Sky and Freeview do for public services. Viewers can then select from the EPG and that 'programme' will be delivered to their PC or set-top box.
