Harris Intraplex
Harris Corporation develops international communications and information technology products serving worldwide government and commercial markets from their headquarters in Florida. The company has some 15,000 employees, including around 7,000 engineers and scientists.
Whilst the company can trace its roots back to the Harris brothers setting up in business in 1985, it has been recently focusing on broadcast communications with the acquisitions of Encoda Systems in 2004 and Leitch Technology Corporation in 2005. In 2007, Harris merged its Microwave Communications Division with Stratex Networks creating Harris Stratex Networks, Inc., as well as acquiring Multimax Incorporated.
Harris develops systems within RF Communications, Broadcasting, Defence and National Intelligence areas as well as for Commercial uses. Today it is a recognised leader in the provision of core networking and audio/video multiplexer systems amongst other capabilities.
